Hello again lovelies! Hopefully most of you have seen my post already about how my brother and I are collecting donations as well as using our own money to purchase items in order to make holiday gift bags for homeless adults in our area! If you haven't seen this post, please consider reading it HERE.
Monetary Update!
I am absolutely blown away by the support that our project has received! Just yesterday our GoFundMe page brought in two absolutely, amazingly generous donations of $50 from two separate individuals! This has put us $10 over our goal of raising $150 for the project, and we couldn't be more elated. That being said, the more the merrier! Our donations are going toward filling the holiday bags with essentials, but we also hope to provide a few items for pleasure such as cookies or candy! Every little bit helps! We are taking donations on the GoFundMe until this Saturday, December 10th because the funds take 5-7 days to be withdrawn and we will need to have time to purchase items with the money. Please consider making a donation, even if it is only a few dollars, to help support our cause and make the holidays a little brighter for those in need. My original post had over 300 views! If every person just donated a single dollar, imagine how many more people we could help.

Donation Update!
- My brother has purchased 24 pairs of socks, some books, and a few men's and women's shirts.
- I have went through my own home and donated a blanket, a few stuffed animals and a few clothing items as well as purchased a few hats, water bottles, and clothing items.
- A friend of mine has donated some clothing items, including a few scarves and jackets, and stuffed animals.
- A local resident has donated a bag of soaps and lotions.
- A local dentist has donated some of the small tubes of toothpaste given out to patients. We have also received a donation of toothbrushes and cases!
- The manager of Froggers Bar and Grill in Oviedo has donated various items including hygiene items and clothing items.
But we still need more! We haven't received many blankets, and have received no pillows. We also haven't had many things like hats, water bottles, or food! We have had zero food donations so far.
What types of things are still needed?
- Money donated to the GoFundMe, so that my brother and I can personally purchase items still needed to fill the bags.
- Items to make the bags festive and nice, such as gift bags, tissue paper, bows and ribbons, cards or drawings, etc.
- Food items such as: crackers or cookies that are packaged, jerky, candy, mints, gum, cereal etc! Anything that is packaged and doesn't necessarily need to be heated up or refrigerated to safely consume.
- Hygiene and Health items such as: hand sanitizer, deodorant, mouthwash, pads or tampons, wipes, Tylenol, vitamins, etc!
- Clothing and Comfort items such as: shirts, jackets, socks or pants, stuffed animals, blankets, pillows, hats or gloves, etc!
- Misc Items such as: books or magazines, small gift cards to food places such as Subway or MacDonald's, items such as backpacks or reusable water bottles, etc!
Please consider making a trip to the dollar store or your local secondhand shop to grab a few items to donate while you're out doing your holiday shopping. Or even looking around your own home to donate gently used items you no longer use or need. Thank you in advance for your kindness and compassion.
I really don't have anything, or have the money to donate. What else could I do to help?
Share the information about the project! Share this post, or my original blog post on any and all social media that you have. Share the link to our GoFundMe page! Tell your friends and coworkers. Spread the word as much as you can because you might be the link that connects this project to someone who is able to make a donation!
